Save the money and buy it for yourself... that 's my best suggestion. If you 'd really like it, then you can do what you did as a kid and wanted something for christmas, mention to your parents or friends "gee whiz, did you see that sweet ski rack? I sure would love something like that one day.... " That 's all the hint that can be politely delivered.... for any gift.
