Second wedding gifts?

Question: Second wedding gifts?

(Posted by: Angela H on 2009-10-28 20:48:56)

A friend of mine is attending her godson& #039;s second wedding. She thinks it is the bride& #039;s second wedding as well. She gave her godson $100 for his first wedding a couple of years ago, and was wondering if she should give less this 2nd time around. What do you think would be appropriate? She has not met the new bride yet, so no feelings about her either way. She actually didn& #039;t care much for the first bride.

Give the happy couple a nice gift! so what if it 's a second marriage. that shouldn 't matter. giving less money sounds to me that this person does not approve of wife #2. hope i 'm wrong i see that you added an addendum. perhaps this person just does not like the idea of her godson getting married again (so soon?) . to anyone.

Getting them a little something but not $100 worth of something

Firstly, she should give what she can, not what she think he deserves. Rule of thumb, estimate how much the dinner plate costs the couple and double it. Nowaday, a dinner plate runs anywhere from 35-50 depending on where you live. Since he 's her godson, a $100 gift is marginal. Again, she should give him what she can. I am sure he 's happy that she 's there to help him celebrate the happy day. Best wishes.

She should give him a lucky charm engraved with, "Better luck this time. "

To me 100 sounds like a minimum gift possible. so she already gave the minimum for the first wedding, she can not make it less. if she gave 200 for the first wedding then giving less money for the second would be all right. but u can not go to a wedding and bring less than 100
